Location map Borovets

Borovets is the oldest winter resort in Bulgaria, and its history dates way back to 1896. Situated on the northern slopes of Musala (the highest peak on the Balkan peninsula), it is in the eastern part of the Rila Mountain.  Tucked between ancient pine trees at 1300 meters above sea level, Borovets has long been the preferred location for winter vacations and all year round tourism in general.
The resort is easily reached, even during severe weather conditions. The infrastructure leading to the resort and which connects it to other major towns is well maintained, practical and accessible. Sofia is some 73 km. to the north, Plovdiv is 126 km. away. Samokov is a strategic city located only some 10 km. (or approximately a 15- 20 minute drive) from the resort. It is a major transportation and infrastructural point. Buses leave the city every 30 minutes and visitors staying in Borovets and arriving by bus will inevitably make a transfer there.
